Dalton Jr. and son, Sammie, came up from Grenada to help celebrate this great occasion. 3/9/1950, Roxie died in Watervalley, Yalobusha Co., MS. She had suffered for several years from “semi-invalidism”. Buried the next day in Oak Hill Cem., Water Valley, MS.
5/9/1950, Robert died two months after Roxie. He had been in poor health for several years. Robert, a Methodist, died at the home of his daughter Ozie. He was buried the next day next to Roxie. (S) Obituary in Memphis Commerical Appeal, 5/10/1950.
