6/4/1761, William Davis assigned in the division of the estate of Job Howe. (S) New Hanover Court Minutes. [Possibly a son of this William.]

Children of William and Isabelle:

i. James Davis, born ~1740 in NC.
[1829, James’ sister Sarah died during a Cholera epidemic in PerrCo., MS; buried on the land of her brother James Davis.]

3/3/1757, “Robert Wells, Ship Carpenter, was the highest bidder at the sheriff’s sale and bought lot No. 91 on south side of Ann Street.” (S) St. James Church Hist. Rcds., Wilmington, NC, P20. [This property descended to Capt. John Brown – see later records.] An “Account of Pews in the Church” lists “Rob. Wells & Mags Cowen’s Este.”. [Magnus Cowen was a member.]
12/5/1760, “Robt. Wales” called to Jury duty in New Hanover Co. [After returning from an adjournment his name is spelled “Wells”. (S) New Hanover Co. Court Minutes.
