After 1773, Marie born in Mobile, AL; d/o 88. Joseph Bosage and 89. Louise Catherine Baudreau.
4/28/1794, Bartholomy married Marie.
7/16/1794, land on Bay St. Louis granted to Phillip Saucier, “bounded by Bartholomew Grelot”.
1/11/1799, with his mother’s permission, Bartholomey sold the family home on Dauphin street for $250.00.
1813, Bartholomy signed a petition to make Mobile the county seat.

2/1820, Bartholomy claimed land he had occupied for about 10 years on the west side of Mobile Bay, bounded above by Deer Creek and below by Bayou Belle Fontaine. 1840 (S) Census, AL, MobCo. Bartholomy is alive but must be separated from Marie. See CD Census Record 49-1840.
5/16/1850, Will of Bartholomy. (S) MobCo., Probate Court, WB2, P256. (contested). He left his estate to his grandson Emile Girard, s/o Isabel.
2/27/1851, Bartholomy died in MobCo., AL. His will stated that he had spent his lifetime in MobCo., AL. (S) Estate of Barthelmew Grelot, File 140, Old Series, MobCo. Probate Court.

Family notes:
• In the spring of 1794, Marie Margaret Bouzage was jointed in Holy Matrimony with Bartholomy Grelot II, the son of Marie Jeanne Nicaise and Bartholomy Grelot I. Among the witnesses to the ceremony were Pierre Langevieny, Pedro Trouillet, and Bartholomy’s godfather Bartholomy Loran. (S) MAA, MB1, P81. Margaret and Bartholomy had known each other all of their lives, since her parents, Louise and Joseph Bouzage, were long-time friends of the Grelots.
• Marie separated from Bartholomy by 1840. She is not named in Bartholomy’s will.

1810, Joseph set up a “cowpen” at Park Rochon in the pine woods. (S) American State Papers, Private Land Claims, V3, P393, Pat 152170.
1813, Joseph signed a petition to make Mobile the county seat.
1/28/1820, Joseph claimed the 625 acres at Park Rochon that he had been using as a cowpen.
1822, Joseph’s land claim was granted.
2/17/1824, Joseph married Coralie Ladner122iv, a minor in a civil ceremony. (S) No. 122 Family notes – Joseph’s consent of marriage.
5/6/1836 their marriage validated by Father Loras in Bayou La Batre.
1837, Coralie bought “30 yards of Domestic” from the store of August Demouy, most likely for sheets.

2/14/1842, Joseph died in Bayou La Batre, AL at his sister Isabel’s home. The day of his death the following items were bought at the store of August Demouy: 5 pounds of candles, a fine white shirt (probably for his burial), one yard of fine white muslin (possibly for a pillow), 2 gallons of whiskey and rum – for $1.13. Joseph was buried in a velvet covered coffin. The funeral bill was $34. In the estate sale Coralie bought 60 of her own cattle for $2.50 each, and a Jersey wagon with harness for $6. Eight children “survived” Joseph, one not yet identified. (S) File 140, Old Series, MobCo. Probate Court.

2/1/1815, Irene was the godmother to her nephew Victor Bosage44vi. (S) No. 44 Family notes.
(S) 1817 tax list, MobCo., AL. n: “Gurlotte”. Her future husband Louis was also in the tax list.
9/21/1817 in MobCo., AL, Irene married Louis Demouy Jr, born ~1804. This same day her sister Margaret was married. (S) MAA, MB 1, P116-2. (S) MobCo. MB0, P107.
1826, Louis identified as the owner of an Inn or Tavern in which Lafayette stayed while visiting Mobile. It was built ~1809 at the corner of Royal and St. Michael streets. It was known until ~1870 as the Lafayette House. It was later known as the “Old Register Building”.

Bef. 1870 Irene died. Granddaughter Frances Bassford is in an orphanage.

They moved to the MS gulf coast.
(S) 1820 Census, MS, HancCo. They have 2 daughters. Phill’ Jr lives next to Pierre Saucier, probably his brother, who is married and has one son under 10, and Phill’ Sr who is probably their father.

(S) 1840 Census, MS, HancCo. Phillip Saucier Jr has 7 girls < 20, and 1 son 5 < 10.
1840–1850 Margaret died.

11/15/1845 William testified about the “Louisa Bouzage Grant”. (S) Mobile Probate Court.
