By 1418, Walter’s father died [Likely in France.]

1418, Walter joined the retinue of Sir Hugh Luttrell, Lt. of Harfleur.

3/18/1420, Commitment to Hugh de Courtenay, knight, the elder, … by mainprise of Walter Raynell, the younger, of the county of Devon … (S) CFRs.

1421, The last military campaign of Henry V in France began; Henry dying while in France in 1422.

9/1421, Walter R. claims that Richard A. owes him £500 on a bond. Damages are claimed at £500. Bond shown in court. And upon this WR says that the bond was made at London etc. (S) CP 40/643, rot. 310.

By 1422, Walter has sold his half of Bassingbourne manor to Lord Tiptoft. [Likely to cover his father’s expenses of the war in France.]

5/2/1422, A jury comes and says on oath that the bond of Walter Reynel of 9/1421 is of RA's making, just as WR alleged. Therefore, WR is to recover the aforesaid debt plus 60s damages and 40s costs. (S) CP 40/643, rot. 310.

1423-24, Walter and his son Walter obtained episcopal licences to have an oratory at Malston. (S) Hist. of Parliament, Roskell, 1993. [Likely after the death of his first wife Christina.]

1/1460, Walter Reynell, former escheator of Devon and Cornwall, states that on 9 February 1453 John Radford made a bond with him in £40, but has not paid, to his damage of £10. He shows the bond in court. (S) CP 40/798, rot. 123d.

Walter died.
