[Demolished in 1957, the manor in the early period went by “Manywares”, “Norton’s Belhous”, and “Coppins Crowch cum Belhous”. A manor roll temp. Mary refers to the court for ‘Belhouse Barretts’ being held ‘apud Coppyns Crouch’.]

·         1297, Fine between John de Belhus and Isolda his wife, plts., and John de Bello Campo, deft., of two part of the manor of Newenton [Newington, Kent].

·         6/24/1309, John de Belhus given protection for going in the King’s service to Scotland with Gilbert de Clare, earl of Gloucester and Hertford.

·         John de Belhus died.

·         1320, ‘Isolda de Belhouse held court at Stanway.

·         There are 2 “Thomas de Belhouse” persons in Essex (and another in Kent, a knight) at this time. Thomas, the knight, died in 1375. (S) UKNA. [From other records, e.g., Essex Record Office, D/DL T1/78, that Thomas’ father had a brother named Thomas, the heir, who is the knight of Stanway (multiple records). He was married to Alice, and left as his heir an only daughter Joane. Joane died without heirs and her heir was a cousin Isolda.]

ii. Alicia de Belhouse (312529), born ~1375 in Essex, England.

iii. Isolda de Belhus, born ? in England.

Iseult 1st married Gilbert at Lee [no children.]
