5/25/1651 in Tourouvre, Nicolas, single, signed a 60 month contract in front of notary Choiseau to work in New France for Sieur Jean Jinchereau de la Ferte. His annual salary was to be 30 pounds, with a pair of shoes. Nicolas could not sign his name. [His sister Francoise signed a contract at the same time.]

1651, Nicholas departed Tourouvre for New France. [His father and siblings also traveled the same year, possibly at the same time.]
