Family notes:
• According to Magna Carta Ancestries, P746: Ralph Basset, born 1335, 3rd Lord Basset, married: 1) by 5/1338 Joan de Beauchamp – and had no issue; 2) Joan of Brittany – and had no issue. This is apparently proved by his will of 1390, the 2nd Joan surviving. This Ralph descended from 121691314. Lord Ralph Basset & 121691315. Joan de Grey.
• John a descendant of §William de Stourton & Joan Vernon, d/o §Richard Vernon of Horningsham, Wiltshire. The last record of John, possibly his father, before a 30-year break in the CPRs of the name: 5/7/1326, Licence for John de Stourton to enfeoff William de Clopton of the manor of Hyngeston, co. Cambridge … the latter to regrant the same to the said John and Alice his wife … (S) CPRs.
