8/4/1265, Lord Edward (I) defeated Montfort’s army at the battle of Evesham, Worcester, ending the Baron’s Revolt and freeing his father, who was wounded. Montfort and 2 of his sons were killed. Robert was a royalist.

9/8/1265, Mandate to the knights, free men and others of the county of Lancaster, as L. son of Griffin and his accomplices have laid siege to the castle of Haworthin, to be of aid with horses and arms and their whole posse to James de Aldithele and Robert de Lathum, sheriff of Lancaster, in the rescue of the castle.
