1102, The castle of Montgomery in Powys [Wales] taken from rebel Robert de Beleme and given to Baldwin.

1105, Baldwin, of Normandy, came to England.

~1108, Baldwin married Sebilla de la Maleyse. King Henry I gave Baldwin de Bollers the Honor of Montgomery with Sibilla de la Faleyse, the niece (nepotem) of the King. (S) FMG.

Sybil died.

Baldwin married 2^nd Margaret de Lymeseye.

1121, Baldwin de Bollers witnessed King Henry I’s charter to Shrewsbury abbey. (S) Coll’s Hist. & Arch., Powys-land Club, V1-6, 1873, P55.

By 1226, Baldwin died.

1226, Vitalis Engaing claimed land in honore de Mungumery which ‘Dominus Rex H. senex’ had given ‘in maritagium Baldewino de Bollers cum Sibilla de Faleise, nepte ipsius H regis’. (S) FMG.

Family notes:

1/20/1241, A long and interesting suit, in which Vitalis Engayne and Roger Gernet claim the Honor of Montgomery, as descendants of the first wife of Baldwin de Bullers, living temp. Henry I.; and Giles de Erdington claimed it on account of a grant made to his father Thomas by Stephen de Stanton, a descendant of Baldwin by a second wife. William de Cantilupe derived his claim by a grant from Reginald Gernet, one of the co-heirs. The pleadings give the following pedigrees: (S) Staffordshire Hist. Coll’s, V4, 1883, Plea Rolls, No.53.
