10/19/1216, Henry III, age 9, succeeded John as King of England.

1217-1221, A crusade organized by Pope Honorius III to the Holy Land. [Gerard with his father and his older brother Thomas attended. His father and Thomas were killed. Gerard returned home; but was sent back by his mother to return Thomas’ body back to Normandy. Apparently the burial place of the father, who may have been captured, was not known.]

1218-20, Gerard’s father died.

~1222, Gerard married Christiana.

11/13/1235, Order to the sheriff of Yorkshire to take into the king’s hand all lands of Gerard de Furnival in his bailiwick with all property and chattels found therein, because he tourneyed against the king’s prohibition. (S) FRsHIII. [Same for Thomas de Furnivall, not Gerard’s brother.]

12/24/1239, Fine of Walter son of Robert. Pledges for this fine. William Longespée for 60m. Hugh Wake for 40m. Thomas de Furnival for 40m. Gerard de Furnival for 40m. Hamo Peche for 40m. Baldwin de Vere for 40m. Stephen Longespée for 40m. (S) FrsHIII.

1241-42, Gerard III died, buried on the south side of the church at Furnefall, Mote-Ebrard, Normandy. [Where his brothers Thomas and William are also buried.]

1242, Christiana, widow of Gerard de Furnivall, granted the custody of his heir, also named Gerard. (S) Hist. of Hertford, V3, 1912, Great Munden.
