1313-14, Robert’s father died.

1314, Robert de Malston was lord of East Ogwell. (S) Rpt. and Trans. of Devonshire, 1912, V44, P319. [A minor as derived from the guardianship of his father, which apparently ended in 1303.]

12/10/1319, Commission ... complaint by Roger Rodde of Hemmuston that Robert de Malston, ... broke his houses and chests at Estwogwill, co. Devon, ... (S) CPRs.

1351, Proof of age of Eleanor, d/o William de Mohun, taken before the King at Westminster. ... Robert de Malleston, aged 50 years and more, distant 4 leagues from Stokefleming [Devon], agrees, and knows it because he has a son named John, now 17 years of age; and he was moreover a great friend of William de Mohun the said Eleanor’s father, and was every day in his house. (S) Cal. Robert died.

Family notes:

·         This Robert’s wife is usually given as Muriel, d/o Thomas Thorber, Esq. While there is no evidence of this, there is evidence that Robert’s paternal grandfather, also named Robert, had a wife named Muriel.

i. Elizabeth Malston (623835), born ~1335 in England.

ii. John Malleston, born 1337 in England.
