5/11/1462, The like to Johh Colshull, knight, … and Richard Bonde to take vessels and ships for the said fleet within the port of Ayssh and the river Tamer, co. Cornwall, and masters and mariners for the same, and to induce the king’s subjects … to provide victurals and array men at their own expense. (S) CPRs.

·         1479-1504,  the vessels engaged in Bristol-Ireland trade were drawn from towns in South Wales, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Somerset, north Devon, and north Cornwall. There were no civic officials that traded exclusively with Ireland. Of 11 officials that were traders, only Richard Bonde (traded almost exclusively with Ireland – 16 transactions –) and John Vaghan (11 transactions) traded more than the some of the others.
