No. 54:(S) 1850 Census, MS, Clarke Co. Mary, a widow, is expecting Amanda and living with her father. Her daughter Melissa13, is staying nearby with Mary’s brother Maxwell.
Mary moved to Mobile with some family member.
10/18/1852 “Mary Carter” married John Grelot24. (S) MobCo. MB12, P30. Mary’s daughter Melissa married John’s son Martin.

No. 12:(S) 1870 Census. Mary is living with Martin12, John Grelot’s first son by Virginia Ladner, and the husband of her daughter Melissa.
Aft. 1870 Mary died in AL.
Family notes:
• In the funeral record of Mary’s grandson George Grelott6, his mother’s maiden name is given as “Scarboro”. Melissa’s “Carter” father died when she was 5 or 6 and her “family” was her mother’s Scarboro family that moved with them to Mobile.
