~1715 Peter born in North Hampton Co., VA, s/o 264. Thomas Batson II & 265. Susanna Hanby.
1724 Ann was born in NC, d/o 266. Andrew Johnson Fabin.
~1742 Peter married Ann in NC.
12/14/1742, Peter and Ann, with Peter’s mother Susanna, sold their VA land to Esau Jacob. (S) No. 264 Family notes.
1743, Peter of Carteret Co., NC, proved his right to two “white polls”. (S) Clark’s NC Records, V4, P641, NC Dept. of Archives and Hist., Raleigh, NC. [A Peter Batson also was on the tax rolls of Onslow Co.]
11/11/1743, Peter partitioned for 100 acres at Edenton, Chowan Co., NC. Andrew Fabin, his step-father, petitioned for 150 acres the same day. (S) Clark’s NC records, V4, P641, NC Dept. of Archives and History, Raleigh, NC. Peter was awarded 100 acres in Cateret Co. [Both NC and VA records show Peter to be an educated person, personally writing some deeds.]
6/26/1746, Peter 100 acres in Cataret Co. between Cedar point and Bartrams. (S) NC Land Grants, Hofmann, 1982, PB5, P242.
12/1/1747, Peter acquired 200 acres in New Hanover Co., where he established his new home. He wrote and signed papers associated with this property selling the land to his father-in-law Andrew Fabin ( 266). (S) New Hanover Co. Deeds, Bk.C, PP151-152. Peter lived on the south side of the Albemarle sound. Topsail, the home of Peter Batson, Peter Batson Jr and their descendents, is located half-way between Wilmington and Jacksonville, on the coast, in current Pender Co. Many Batson families live in this area.
1748, Peter served in the Colonial Militia during a Manherrin Indian uprising. (S) Clark’s NC Records, V22, P274, NC Dept. of Archives and History, Raleigh, NC.
9/1748, Peter sold the 100 acres in Cateret Co. on Cedar Point.
10/16/1749, Will of Jeremiah Griffith of New Hanover Co. being weak in body ... wife Mary a piece or parcel of land upon Whiterses Creek cont. 100 A joining Mr. Peter Batsons Estate ….
Bef. 11/28/1761 Peter died in New Hanover Co., NC.; appears to have died intestate. [The death dates are established by the will of Ann’s father which left no mention of Peter or Ann; and the records of guardianship of the sons.]
Bef. 11/28/1761 Ann died in New Hanover Co., NC.

9/2/1767, Peter appointed guardian of little brother Thomas, and took over running the plantation left by his grandfather to Thomas. “Peter Batson appointed guardian of his brother Thomas Batson, orphan … bond of £300 with …”. (S) New Hanover Court Minutes, 1738-1769, P162.
Married Mary Elizabeth ?, who could sign her name (unusual for the time).
3/17/1776, Peter purchased land on Topsail Sound and sold 12 acres of it to his brother Thomas.
1780, Peter voted in Wilmington Distr. of NC.

12/19/1798 in New Hanover Co., Peter is in the court minutes associated with an adoption.

1805, Peter gave land “on VA Creek” to his son Balaam.
