5/3/1712, William named in his father’s will & given: “one hundred acres of land purchased of Henry Johnson and Barnaby Kearny.”
12/16/1729, William & daughter “Ann Godwin” named in her father’s will and given land and other items. William is named executor.
1741, Northampton Co. formed from Bertie Co.
William moved to NC. [The part of Northampton Co. where brothers Edmund, Samuel, and William lived was in the Ahosky, Horse Creek, Flatt Creek area.]
2/11/1758, William Godwin of Northampton Co., NC, [borders VA] sold 160 acres to Daniel Batten for £22, 10 sh. VA currency on the north side of Manherrin river. (S) Northampton Co., DB1, P437.
1759, this part of Northampton Co. became Hertford Co.
