1620, Francis born in Yorkshire, England, s/o 2432. Francis Purdy.
~1622, Mary born in England d/o 2434. John Brundish and 2435. Rachel Hubbard.
[Naming traditions as well as identity of persons associated with Francis in America indicate that he was an East Anglia Puritan. East Anglia consists of Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex – the same area from which the Brundish family originates.]
1632, Francis arrived in Concord, MA.
8/5/1642 in Fairfield, CT, Francis married Mary. (S) See No. 2434.
1/6/1644, Frances and Mary witnessed the will of William Froste. William left one daughter “all my goods and lands in Old England”. (S) Colonial CT Records, V1, P466.
1658 Francis died in Fairfield, CT. (S) Will proved 10/14/1658, Fairfield Co. Probate, V1.
10/14/1658, widow Mary made oath on her husband’s inventory. All 5 children were minors. Son John was to have a double portion. John Hoyt was to “take care of the mare”.
~1659, Mary married 2nd John Hoyt, born 1614 in England. We know that the widow of Francis Purdy had married John Hoyt because her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (Brown) Purdy, in 1678 asked that “my father John Hoit and my brother Thomas Browne might stand overseers, or my brother Hacaliah Browne …” after the death of her husband John608.
They move to Rye, NY.
8/29/1684, John Hoyt wrote his will naming his wife Mary, 2 sons: John and Simon, 2 daughters: Mary Brown and Rachael Norton.

10/5/1709 Joseph wrote his will in Rye, NY. It was proved the next day before the Governor. His wife and all of his children are named in the will. Joseph left his wife his rights to the White Plains Purchase.
