Aft. 6/3/1448, William a parishioner and major contributor to the rebuilding of parish church of the diocese of St Thomas in Salisbury. “William Ludlow, lord of Hill Deverell and boteler to iii kynges of England, was buried in the church, under a marble tomb at the end of the Hye Auter on the North side thereof; the ile of the whiche the seid William Ludlow hath late new siled and paynted, and sette with scochyn of armes of hymself, his wyf and his children”.
