1370-1, Simon of Thornhill died: inquisition at Ovenden: “Simon de Thornhill, holding lands in Stansfeld, Skircoat, Ovenden and Wadsworth, … died, and Elizabeth, daughter and heir, of the age of two years, and in the custody of Elizabeth her mother, comes, and gives for relief ten shillings.”
