1291, John Wake, son and heir of Sir Baldwin Wake, gave his brother Hugh Wake his manor of Winterborne Stoke, Wiltshire. (S) The Ancestor, 1902, P112.

Hugh married Joan. Baldwin de Bellany, Joan’s father, for her marriage portion gave lands in South Damerham, Hants, and in Fisherton, Wilts. (S) A History of the County of Wiltshire, V8, 1965.
