130. John Fiers & 131. Frances ?


1762, John born in Sussex Co., VA; s/o 260. William Fiers & 261. Lucy Lawrence.

1782, John married Frances in Sussex Co., VA.

1804, John moved his famiy to Greene Co., OH.

1805, the family arrived in OH, which had been a state for 2 years, and settled near the community of Zenia. The state was still heavily populated with Indian tribes. John was a “cooper” – a barrel maker.

1810, John died in Greene Co., OH.

~1830, Frances died in Greene Co., OH.

Children of John and Frances:

i. Sarah Fiers (65), born 1/28/1783 in Sussex Co., VA.

ii. Lucy Fiers, born ~1786 in Sussex Co., VA.
6/27/1809 in Green Co., IN, Lucy married Jehu Inman.
Aft. 9/1830, Lucy died in Clay Co., IN.

iii. James Fiers, born ~1790 in Sussex Co., VA.
1812-1814, James in the Mounted Riflemen of OH in the War of 1812.
12/31/1813 in OH, James married Ruth Borders.
1/7/1849 in Jay Co., IN, James married Nancy Mowrer Close.
5/22/1874, James died.

iv. Frances Fiers, born 1/4/1794 in Sussex Co., VA.
11/22/1824 in OH, Frances married Daniel Brewington.

v. Elizabeth Fiers, born ~1796 in Sussex Co., VA.
12/27/1820 in OH, Elizabeth married John Kizer.

vi. Thomas L Fiers, born 8/8/1798 in Sussex Co., VA.
1812-14, Thomas served in the War of 1812. (S) Thomas’ Obit.
1/5/1822 in Greene Co., OH, Thomas married Anna Lewis.
1840, Thomas settled in Delaware Co., IN.
1870, Thomas moved to Jay Co., IN.
1880, Thomas died in Redkey, Jay Co., IN. [Both buried in the Pioneer Cem.]
[Thomas’ obit said that many family members served in the Rev. War.]

vii. John Fiers, born ~1800 in Sussex Co., VA.
9/30/1819 in OH, John married Martha Craig.

viii. Lucretia Fiers, born ~1802 in Sussex Co., VA.
10/19/1822 in OH, Lucretia married William Richardson.
