10/16/1715, Samuel named in his father’s will.

12/5/1721, Samuel Pyle, physician, son of Nicholas and Abigail Pyle of Concord, acknowledged 5th of 12th mo, 1721 his m. [marriage] out of Friends by a priest. Samuel and his wife settled in Kennett. (S) Early Church Records of Delaware Co., PA.
9/21/1724 in Chester Co., Samuel was paid cash from the estate of Francis Huntley.
12/11/1742 in Chester Co., Sarah Pyle witnessed the will of Benjamin Hickman of Westtown, yeoman.
6/18/1744 in Chester Co., Samuel Pyle left 1/3 of the saw mill and ground in the will of Joshua Harlan of Kennett, yeoman. Samuel also witnessed the will. [Unknown relationship, but Joshua mentions an unmarried daughter Sarah in his will. Joshua was the father of Joseph, that married Samuel’s daughter Edith.]
6/21/1746, Samuel given custody of his nephew, Samuel Sharp, s/o Joseph Sharp and his oldest sister Mary. Samuel was to to have charge of his nephew until he reached the age of 21. Samuel and his son Nicholas were executors of the will.
1767, Samuel moved to Chatham Co., NC.

• Sarah often identified as Sarah Owen – disproven; or Sarah Pringle – disproven [1739, Sarah Pringle married Samuel Pyle, s/o Jacob Pyle and Alice Bowater.]
• Samuel was a wealthy doctor – he sent his son John to England to study medicine.
• Some or all of the 1724–1744 records may be of another Samuel Pyle of Chester Co. Samuel’s brothers also named sons Samuel.

ii. Nicholas Pyle, born 1724 in Kennett, Chester Co., PA.
Nicholas married Mary Baldwin, sister of John’s wife.
iii. Edith Pyle, born 2/3/1726 in Kennett, Chester Co., PA.
Edith married Joseph Harlan, s/o Joshua.
12/1/1771, Edith died in Kennett.
