6/28/1647, Francois baptized in La Flotte, Charente Maritime, France; s/o 3628. Louis Thibault & 3629. Nereus Gauthier. [Francois born on Ile de Re, an island 4 km off the coast of La Rochelle.] Francois’ godmother was Marie Gautier.

1655, Agnes born in St Germain des Pres, Paris, France; d/o §Guillaume Lefebvre & §Barbe Viot.

3/31/1665 in La Rochelle, France, Francois hired by Robert Pare to travel to New France. The contract was for 36 months at 75 livres a year, with 30 livres in advance.

4/1665, Francois embarked on the Chat de Hollande, a 200 ton ship owned by Albert Kadt, and captained by Charles Babin.

6/15/1665, after 52 days, Francois arrived New France.

1666-67 in Beaupre, Comte de Montmorency, Francois a domestic for Robert Pare.

2/1669, Francois confirmed in Chateau Richer. (S) PRDH.

6/29/1669, Francois received a grant in Beaupre for 45 livres and annual fees. The land, on the Grande Riviere [Sainte-Anne river], 1 arpent of lwo land adjoining Jean le Picart.

Agnes traveled to New France as a “king’s daughter”. [1 of 134 that arrived that year.]

8/31/1670, Agnes, age 15, signed a marriage contract with Nicolas Nauteau, a Limousine.

9/24/1670, Agnes’ contract to marry canceled.

10/3/1670, Francois signed his marriage contract with Agnes in the house of lady Gasnier. Anne had property valued at 200 livres, with a king’s dowery of 50 livres.

10/14/1670 in Ste Anne de Beaupre, Francois married Agnes. Present were Jean Caron, Robert Pare, and Pierre Picard, all residents of Ste Anne de Beaupre. No parents were named in the document.

4/9/1674 at the home of Genevieve de Chavigny in Quebec, Francois had sold his Beaupre concession and purchased land in the lordship of Vincelotte [owned by Seigneuress Genevieve de Chavigny], bounded by Bonsecours and Cap St Ignace, on the south side of the St Laurence river. His concession included the right of hunting and fishing. Francois had 3 arpents frontal by 40 deep. His rent was 6 livres and 3 live capons. Francois also agreed to manage the farm of Genevieve for half the harvest.

4/9/1676, Genevieve de Chavigny again made a concession to Francois.

10/30/1678, Bishop Laval established a parish in Cap St Ignace.

11/10/1679, Francois gave Jean Picard, merchant of Quebec, 266 livres, 11 sols.

1681 Census, Bellechasse Chaudiere Appalaches, Quebec: Francois Thibault 34, Elisabeth Agnes Lefebvre, children: Marie Anne, Jacques, Jean Francois, Elisabeth; 1 gun, 4 cattle, 5 arpents of cleared land.

1681, during a visit of Bishop Laval to Cap St Ignace, daughter Elizabeth confirmed.

Summer, 1683, the 1st church was completed on land donated by Nicolas Gamache. It was 40 by 25 feet. Francois had promised 6 days of work, 25 stakes and 10 planks.

10/2/1697, Francois received a 2nd consession in Cap St Ignace next to Charles Bernier.

10/2/1707, Francois received a concession that he would sell in 1711.

7/7/1711, Francois sold a Cap St Ignace concession to Ignatius Bouchard for 150 livres cash.

3/29/1716, Francois and Agnes gave half of their possessions to son Louis as a contract for him to take care of them for the remainder of their lives. The remaining half was to be dispersed to the other children at their death. [Louis eventually bought the siblings shares and became owner of the estate.] The estate was 3 arpents frontal, 9 cattle [4 draft animals], a plow, a cart, 2 axes, 2 pickaxes, 3 augers, 2 handsaws, 3 cooper’s molds, 6 plates, 2 pots, 1 fire shovel, 1 gun, and misc. items. Francois and Agnes retained the garden, 1 cow and 6 hens. Louis signed the document. The farm consisted of a house, barn, stable, and 40 arpents of workable land.

11/10/1724, Francois buried in Cap St Ignace. Missionary Simon Foucault, who presided, wrote “The whole parish attended the burial.”

7/28/1725, Agnes, age 70, died in Cap St Ignace.

6/12/1756, Elisabeth died in L’Islet.

ii. Jean Francois Thibault, born 12/16/1675 in Cap St Ignace, Canada.
6/30/1703, Joseph Amiot de Vincelotte [Genevieve’s son] made a concession to Francois.
7/28/1704 in Cap St Ignace, Francois married Marie Anne Guimond, d/o Claude Guimond & 1937. Anne LeRoy [died 1705.]
Jean married Angelique Proulx. [17 children.]

iii. Jacques Thibault, born 2/10/1678 in Cap St Ignace, Canada.
7/10/1703 in Montmagny, Jacques married Marie Anne Proulx.
3/30/1755, Jacques died in Montmagny.

iv. Marie Anne Thibault, born 4/3/1680 in L’Islet, Canada.
12/1/1703 in Cap St Ignace, Anne married Louis Cloutier, s/o 3740. Rene Cloutier & 3741. Marie Elisabeth Leblanc. [12 children.]
4/25/1736, Marie died in Quebec.

v. Genevieve Thibault (907), born 3/28/1682 in Cap St Ignace, Canada.

10/25/1704 in L’Islet, Anne married Jean Dumais [died 1712].
9/1717 at Quebec, Anne married widower Jean Dirigoyen.

vii. Marie Angelique Thibault, born 2/15/1686 in Cap St Ignace, Canada.
7/28/1705 in Cap St Ignace, Angelique married Michel Migner dit Lagace. [10 children.]
2/8/1736, Angelique died in La Pocatiere.

viii. Marie Madeleine Thibault, born 4/20/1688 in Cap St Ignace, Canada.
10/13/1710 in Cap St Ignace, Madeleine married Charles Godreau. [8 children.]
2/6/1777, Madeleine died in Montmagny.

ix. Barbe Thibault, born 5/21/1690 in Cap St Ignace, Canada.
