12/3/1653, Barbe baptized in Quebec, Canada; d/o 3634. Jean Neveu & 3635. Anne Ledet. Both parents were present. Godparents: Charles de Repentigny, and Marie Madeleine de Repentigny, wife of Godefroy. The baby Barbe was baptized by Jean Noel [ondoyee] because a priest was not present and they were afraid for baby Barbe’s life.

Aft. 10/11/1655, Barbe’s father was convicted of bigamy and returned to France.

9/2/1657 in Quebec, Barbe’s mother remarried to Gilles Pinel.

1666 census of Comte de Quebec; Barbe, age 12, lives with her mother and stepfather, her sister, and 4 half-siblings.

3/20/1667, Nicolas was in Quebec and received a concession of Jean Bourdon in Nueville [Pointe aux Trembles, Quebec City.]

8/20/1667 at Notre Dame de Quebec, Nicolas, a soldier from Pons sur Saine, married Barbe, a resident of Quebec. All parents were named. [Note: in the record her name is spelled “Nepveu”.] Witnesses: Jean Bourdon, Simon Lefebvre dit Anges, Ignace Legardeur dit Duponceaux. The 3 “banns” were dispenced with “for good reasons”. The priest did not sign the document.

1681, (S) Census of Canada, Pointe aux Trembles: Nicolas Sylvestre, 37 years; Neveu Barbara, his wife, 28; children: Nicolas 12, Marie 9, Louis 7, Pierre 5, Anne 2; 1 rifle, 4 cattle, 20 acres value.

4/17/1694, Nicloas was involved in a land sale.

11/8/1700 in Neuville, Nicolas attended the wedding of his son Pierre.

9/6/1703, Nicolas appeared before the notary Louis Chamblon.

7/1710, Nicolas appeared before the notary Louis Chamblon.

8/5/1714, Nicolas appeared before the notary Louis Chamblon, making a gift to his son Jean.

1729, Nicolas died; buried at Pointe aux Trembles [now Neuville], Barbe surviving.

4/18/1729, Barbe died; buried with Nicolas.
