8/4/1399, Order to the escheator in the county of Oxford, …, the king has taken the homage and fealty due from William Marny, ‘chivaler,’ by reason of his having issue by Elizabeth his wife, one of the sisters and heirs of Richard the son of Richard Sergeaux, ‘chivaler,’ and Philippa his wife, and one of the daughters and heirs of the said Philippa, for Elizabeth's pourparty … by the death of Richard the father and by reason of the minority of Richard the son, who lately died a minor in the king's ward, and of those which the said Philippa held of the king in chief, to make a partition into four equal parts of the said lands, and of those whereof the said Richard the father and Philippa were seised in demesne as of fee or in fee tail; and of such as Philippa held in dower or otherwise for life, of the inheritance of the said Elizabeth, Philippa, whom Robert Passele has taken to wife and who is of full age, the second daughter and heir of Philippa wife of Richard and sister and heir of Richard the son, Alice, a minor, whom Guy de Sancto Albino has taken to wife, the third daughter and heir of Philippa wife of Richard and sister and heir of Richard the son and Joan, a minor, the fourth daughter and heir of Philippa wife of Richard and sister and heir of Richard the son ; and to cause William and Elizabeth to have full seisin of Elizabeth pourparty, retaining in the king's hand until further order the pourparties of Philippa wife of Robert, Alice and Joan ; provided always that each of the said heirs and parceners have in her pourparty a share of the lands which are held of the king in chief and so be the king's tenant.
