2/9/1621, Julien baptized in parish of Notre-Dame-de-Vair, arrondissement of Mamers, diocese of LeMans, Perche, France; eldest s/o 7456. Julien Fortin & 7457. Marie Lavie. Julien’s godparents were Francois Loriot and Denise Fouet – the widow Fortin.

Julien trained as a butcher by his father.

Julien traveled to new France.

10/3/1636, Genevieve baptized in parish of St. Illiers-la-Ville, arrondissement of Mantes-la-Jolie, diocese of Chartres in the Beauce regions of Orléannis, France; d/o 1808. Nicolas Gamache & 1809. Jacqueline Cadotte.

12/1650, Julien received a concession in Petite Cap [Ste Anne de Beaupre.]

By 1652, Genevieve, her father, and her brothers immigrated to New France.

10/23/1652 in the home of Toussaint, Julien contracted to marry Genevieve, a “filles à marier”. Genevieve’s father was a witness and promised 200 livres of clothes, linens, and furniture, and agreed to feed the couple for 2 years as part of their service to him, and they would be paid 150 livres per year out of the Gamache family inheritance.

3/27/1654, Julien sold his original grant to Robert Caron.

8/23/1657, Julien bought 1/8th of the seigneurie of Beaupré and the Île d'Orléans from Charles de Lauzon for 700 livres.

2/25/1658, Julien in a transaction with Urbain Beaudry.

1/18/1659, Julien and Genevieve made a release to [7309] Marie Crevet, widow of Robert Caron.

6/4/1659, Julien received a concession from the Governor.

10/6/1661, Julien testified in court about Iroquois looting farms in the area.

2/11/1662, Julien sold the land bought in 1657 to Bishop Laval for 750 livres.

1666 census of Comte de Montmorency; Julien 50, Genevieve 30, children: Barbe 12, Charles 10, Eustache 8, Jacques 6, Genevieve 4, Joseph 2, Marie 4 months; Nicolas Palmy 25 – domestic.

1/13/1670, Julien Fortin granted his brother-in-law Nicolas land at Cap de Tourmente, “for reward for his troubles and services and work which the said Gamache has rendered in the house of the said Sr de Bellefontaine.” The land was 2 arpents, 2 perches frontage at Chateau Richer.

1/16/1674, Julien sold land to Mathurin Gagnon.

11/8/1676, at the home of Zacharie Cloutier and Xainte Dupont, Genevieve present for the marriage contract signing of her brother Nicolas Gamache to marry Elisabeth Ursule Cloutier.

8/18/1680, due to the healing of his daughter Barbe of an affliction, Julien made donations to local churches.

1681 census of Comte de Montmorency; Julien 50, Genevieve 44, children: Charles 25, Eustache 23, Jacques 20, Genevieve 19, Joseph 16, Marie 15, Julien 13, Pierre 11, Louis 9, Jean 7, Marguerite 5.

11/11/1681, Julien and Genevieve residents of Ste Anne de Beaupre, eveche de Quebec. (S) Wedding of son Charles.

6/8/1689–4/16/1690, Julien died in Quebec.

5/25/1693, Genevieve, a widow and resident of St Joachim. (S) Son Eustache’s wedding.

6/24/1695, Genevieve made a gift to son Joseph.

7/9/1704, Julien’s estate was inventoried and divided.

7/11/1704, Genevieve in a lease with widow of son Joseph.

11/5/1709, Genevieve died in the home of her son Charles, buried in L’Islet sur Mer, Canada.

8/26/1737, Barbe, age 83, died in L’Islet.

7/8/1683 in Ste Anne de Beaupre, Genevieve married Noel Gagnon, s/o Pierre Gagnon & Vincente Devarieux.
3/21/1703, Genevieve, age 41, died in Chateau Richer.

viii. Pierre Fortin, born 5/21/1669 in Beaupre, Canada.
7/4/1697 in Riviere Ouelle, Pierre married Gertrude, d/o Pierre Hudon & Marie Angelique Gobeil.
4/3/1752, Pierre, age 83, died in Montmagny.

11/23/1699 in Quebec, Marguerite married Pierre Francois Fromage.
1/15/1703, Marguerite, age 26, died in Quebec.
