1437, John Bardfield was Lord of the Manor of Little Thurrock, Essex.

21/1/1442, Deed: Feoffment John Chamberlayn formerly of Sandon … to John Basset of Chishill, …. All lands and tenements, … Witnesses: John Borham, John Berdefeld', … Given at Sandon. (S) Seax, D/Day T2/186.
