1176-77, Richard de Flete appears in the pipe rolls. (S) English Lawsuits, Caenegem, 1991, P418.

1180-90, Richard de Fleet made a grant to the church of St. Mary Magdalene of Fleet. (S) Occasional Papers, 1954, P31.

1189, Richard of Fleet and other local lords invaded Crowland abbey lands with 3000 men and began cutting down trees and digging turves.

9/3/1189, Richard I crowned king of England.

1190, Richard de Flete owed 100 marks for his daughter [Sara] to be freed from Ralph de Candos, who said he married her. (S) Medieval English Ancestors, Boyer, 2001, P172.

[Richard’s charter ends with “any infringers of this concession shall suffer perpetual anathema, and with Judas the traitor and the devil and his ministers shall be condemned to the  torture of eternal death.”]

Richard died.
