3/16/1251, Essex. Osbert de Thorp’ and Margaret, his wife, give the king one mark for a writ ad terminum and for taking an assize. (S) FRsHIII.

Aft. 1251, John’s parents, Osbert & Margaret, died.

4/30/1258, Essex. John de Thorp’ gives one mark for taking an assize of novel disseisin before John of Cockfield. (S) FRsHIII.

6/30/1259, Essex. John de Thorp’ gives half a mark for associating Robert de Briwes with John of Cockfield to take the assize of novel disseisin which Robert le Blund arraigned against John de Thorp’, concerning a tenement in Rayleigh. (S) FRsHIII.

10/18/1260, Essex. John de Thorp’ and Marsilia, his wife, give half a mark for taking an assize before John de Wyville. (S) FRsHIII.
