Katherine first married to Sir Thomas de Clopton of Kentwell in Long Melford, Suffolk.

Sir Thomas died, buried in the Tendring chaple in Stoke Nayland church. [Sir Thomas Clopton and Katherine Mylde are depicted in stained glass in Holy Trinity Church at Long Melford.]

6/18/1403, Katherine died.

Family notes:

·         A ‘Sir Thomas Clopton’, likely the son of the Thomas who had been previously married, died in 1383, and is often confused with this Thomas. By the 1408 inscription and it can be seen that she first married Thomas. By the births of succeeding generations it can be seen that Alice had to have been born about 1375.

i. Alice Tendring (738769), born ~1375 in Suffolk, England.

ii. Elizabeth Tendring, born ? in England.
