6/30/1860, Samuel age 7, lives with his family in Hamilton Co., TN. (S) U.S. 1880 Census.

1874, Samuel moved to TX. (S) The Frederick Press Article.

2/2/1874, Mildra born in Agnes, Texas, her father born in TN, her mother in IL; daughter of 62. Samuel W. Campbell & 63. Mildra Eliza Sessions. (S) 1880 Census; (S) 1900 Census.

6/5/1880, Mildred J age 5, lives with her family in Wise Co., TX. (S) U.S. 1880 Census.

12/29/1887, Samuel married Mildra at Cottondale, TX. (S) The Frederick Press Article.

[1900-1920, The family appears to move between Jack and Wise counties. Likely the counties lines were moved, a common occurrence during this time as the population shifted.]

6/14/1900, Samuel J Early age 46, wife Mildra J age 25 who has had 5 children, son Fred J age 11, daughter Ona M. age 9, Brutis M age 6, Lether F age 3 and Edith L age 8 months live in Wise Co., TX. Fred and Ona are in school. Samuel, Mildra, Fred and Ona can read and write. Samuel owns his farm which has a mortgage. (S) U.S. 1900 Census.

4/21/1910, Samuel H. Early age 56, and Mildra age 36, married 22 years. Mildra has had 9 children, all living. Children: son Fred age 21, son Brudias M. age 16, daughter Juther F. age  13, daughter Edith S. age 11, daughter Edna M age 8, daughter Zelma J age 6, daughter Lila C age 2, son Byron age 3 months; all born in TX. Samuel is a ? working at a cottin gin; Fred and Brudias farm laborers, Fred work off their farm and Brudias working the home farm. Everyone down to and including daughter Edith can read and write. Samuel owns his farm in Wise Co. (S) U.S. 1910 Census.

2/7/1920, The family lives in Jack Co. TX, and own their home which has a mortgage. Sam H., Mildra J, Marie age 17, Zelma age 16, Cletis age 12, Byron age 10, Weltie age 6 and Nolten age 4. Mrarie, Zelma, Cletis, and Byron attend school. Samule is a general farmer.

12/1920, “Joplin news of general Interest to people of the community. ... Mr. and Mrs. Brutus Early of Mineral Wells are visiting Mr. Early’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Early. (S) Jacksoboro Gazette, Page Two.

4/1927, “Joplin. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Early visited their daughter at Vinyard recently.” (S) Jacksboro Gazette, Number 45.

7/7/1927, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Early of Joplin spent Sunday here with their daughter Mrs. A. L. Roper (Edith). (S) Jacksboro Gaxette, No. 6.

4/3/1930, They live in Jack Co., TX. Sam H., Millie, Burton, Nellie and Finis. Sam is a general farmer, Byron is a house carpenter, Finis is a general farmer. They rent their home. Sam was 28 and Millie 15 when they got married. (S) U.S. 1930 Census.

1933, Sam moved the family to near Manitou, OK. (S) The Frederick Press Article.

5/1/1935, Sam and family live in their home which they rent for $4 a month in Manitou, Tillman Co., Ok. (S) U.S. 1940 Census.

3/8/1937, Samuel died. “S. H. Early, 86, died at his home in Manitou Monday morning after being in failing health several years. Rites wee held from Manitou Baptist church at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in charge of Rev. R. C. Hopper, pastor, ... (S) The Frederick Press.

3/8/1937, Samuel died in Tipton, OK.

3/12/1937, Samuel Obit:. “Samuel Howard Early was born 10/17/1850 near Chattanooga, Tenn. He removed to near Dallas, TX when 21, after which he resided in different places in TX and TN. Early married Miss Mildred Campbell at Cotondale, TX, Dec. 29/1887. In 1904 the family moved to Jacksboro and in 1917 to Wise Co., TX. They came to near Manitou in 1933. His widow and 11 daughters and sons survive.: Fred, Manitou; Mrs. Gib Easley, Tipton; Burtus M. Mineral Wells; Mres. Ed Bevins, Ft. Worth; Mrs. H. L. Roper, Vineyard; Mrs. Homer Eason, Dallas, Mrs. Raymond Woods (Zelma), Ft. Worth; Miss Cletis, Dallas, Bryan, Manitou; Mrs. Geo. Dewberry, Littlefield; Bill, Cache. One great grandchild and 24 grandchildren also survive ... Interment was in Tipton cemetery. (S) The Frederick Press of Frederick, OK.

4/4/1940, Widow Mildred M age 66, mother of Sam B Early, lives with Sam and his family in Manitou, Tillman Co., OK. Mildred had completed 5th grade in school. They live in Sam & Mildred’s home. (S) U.S. 1940 Census.

5/17/1947, Mrs. Mildra Jane Early, a widow, maiden name “Mildra Campbell”, lived at 4146 E. Belknap, Ft. Worth. (S) Mildra’s Death Cert., signed by Mrs. George Dewberry.

5/17/1947, Mildra died. Obit: “When the Curtain Falls. Mildra Jane Early was born Feb. 2, 1874 at Agnes, TX. She departed this life May 17, 1947 at the Pennsylvania ave. hospital in Fort Worth, TX. She was 73 years, 3 months old. She was married to Samuel Howard Early in 1888 at Agnes, TX. He preceded her in death on March 8 1936. To this union 11 children were born, all of whom are living. Mrs. Early came with her family to Oklahoma in 1933, making her home in Manitou. She had been with her daughter Nell Dewberry since Nov. She leaves to mourn her passing: Fred Early of Arlington; Mrs Ora Mae Easley, Globe AZ; Brutis Early, Phoenix, AZ; Mrs. Letha Bevins, Ft. Worth; Mrs. A. L. Roper, Vineyard, TX; Mrs, Homer Eason, Dallas; Mrs. J. R. Wood (Zelma) Ft. Worth; Miss Cletis Early, Washington D.C., Byron Early, Tulia, TX; Mrs. George Dewberry, Ft. Worth; Bill Early, Amarillo; two brothers, three sisters, 25 grand children ... First Baptist church Manitou ... (S) Frederick Press. [Buried in Tipton Cemetery, Tillman Co., OK with Samuel.]

Edna married Homer Daniel Eason (b.1900).
